Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, embarked on a two-day visit to Ranchi to participate in the 27th Eastern Zonal Council Meeting scheduled for July 10.
The meeting, chaired by Union Home Minister Amit Shah, will bring together representatives from eastern states to address critical issues such as internal security, border disputes, and other significant regional concerns.
The delegation from Odisha includes Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, and the Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department.
According to Deputy Chief Minister Parida, the meeting aims to foster collaboration among eastern states to tackle pressing challenges and enhance regional coordination. The Eastern Zonal Council, a vital platform for inter-state dialogue, facilitates discussions on matters of mutual interest, ensuring cooperative federalism.
This year’s agenda is expected to focus on strengthening security measures and resolving long-standing border disputes, which have been a recurring issue for several eastern states.
