The Higher Education Department of Odisha has issued an official advertisement inviting applications for the position of Vice-Chancellor across 13 state public universities.
This prestigious opportunity is aimed at distinguished academicians with extensive experience in teaching and research.
Candidates must be under 66 years of age as of December 1, 2025, and should have at least 10 years of experience as a professor or an equivalent position in a reputed institution. The selected individuals will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹2,10,000, along with a special allowance of ₹11,250 and other benefits. The tenure of the Vice-Chancellor will last four years or until the age of 70, whichever is earlier.
Interested candidates must submit applications both online and offline. A scanned copy should be uploaded on the HIMS portal and emailed to the Higher Education Department. Additionally, a physical copy must be sent via Speed Post to the department’s office. Candidates are permitted to apply for multiple universities and must specify their order of preference in their application.
