A major academic crisis has gripped Padmapur subdivision in Bargarh district, where more than 1,100 students from six CBSE-affiliated schools have yet to receive their Class 10 and 12 board results.

The delay, which has persisted for over ten days since the nationwide declaration of results, has sparked protests among affected students and parents.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) announced results on May 13, but students from four government and two private schools in Padmapur found their marks missing. With no clear explanation from school authorities, anxiety among students has intensified.

On Friday, the protests escalated as hundreds of students and parents staged a dharna outside the Sub-Collector’s office in Padampur. Amid growing frustration, nine students initiated a hunger strike, vowing not to end it until the withheld results are released.

The delay has left students in distress, as admission processes for Class 11 and various undergraduate courses have begun. Without official results, many fear losing academic opportunities and lagging behind their peers.

Bargarh District Education Officer Bishwanath Sahu acknowledged the issue, confirming that results for 1,185 students are pending. “Representatives from our block and school principals have visited the CBSE regional office in Bhubaneswar. The matter is being sorted out. We urge students and parents not to panic,” he said.

Despite assurances, students remain uncertain, as protests continue to gain momentum.
