Bhawanipatna: Another elephant has died on Saturday at Karlapat sanctuary in Kalahandi district taking the toll to five in thirteen days.
The forest officials, however, said the jumbo has died due to infection. The carcass of the pachyderm was recovered by forest officials from Ghusuriguda nullah.
Worthwhile to mention here that a female elephant had died on February 1. This was followed by the death of the second one on February 8. The third she-jumbo had died on February 11 and the fourth one had died the next day.
