As the Thailand Open 2025 kicks off, India’s shuttlers are gearing up for an electrifying tournament in Bangkok.
The Super 500 event will witness the return of Treesa Jolly and Gayatri Gopichand, the World No. 10 women’s doubles pair, who are back in action after missing the Sudirman Cup due to injuries.
Young shuttlers Ayush Shetty and Unnati Hooda, fresh off their semifinal finish at the Taipei Open Super 300, will look to continue their fine form. However, both players must navigate the qualifying rounds before making it to the main draw. Ayush faces Finland’s Joakim Oldorff, while Unnati takes on Thailand’s Thamonwan Nithiittikrai.
Meanwhile, Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen is set to face Ireland’s Nhat Nguyen in his opening match, eager to test his fitness after missing the Sudirman Cup. Other Indian players, including Priyanshu Rajawat, Malvika Bansod, Anupama Upadhyaya, and Kidambi Srikanth, will be looking to leave their mark on the tournament.
With fierce competition ahead, India’s representation in both singles and doubles promises an exciting tournament for badminton fans worldwide.
