Bhubaneswar: Odisha Agriculture Minister Dr Arun Kumar Sahoo on Friday stressed on long term action plan for undertaking research in the field of agriculture.
Attending the general body meet of teachers’ association of OUAT here on Friday, the Minister said that priority is given to the development of farmers and farming of different produces. He said the agriculture sector has flourished with the introduction of modern equipment to boost farming.
The Minister said the production of cereals has increased by leaps and bounds due to introduction of new technology and added that the state has rapid strides in the production of egg, fish and milk in the past twenty years.
While attending the 45th general body meet of teachers’ association, Minister Sahu said that the students of OUAT have earned laurels at different fields and urged the authorities to prepare a database of the students for future use.
Vice Chancellor of OUAT Dr Pawan Kumar Agarwal said the varsity is completely dedicated to the cause of farmers and added that a number of initiatives have been undertaken for imparting quality education to the students.
President of teachers’ union Dr PK Sarangi delivered the welcome speech. General Secretary Dr Pradipta Kumar Sahu read out the annual report.
