Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati emphasised the importance of educating students about critical contemporary issues, including climate change, digital responsibility, national security, gender equality, and social justice.

Speaking at the Annual Prize Distribution Ceremony of Sainik School, Bhubaneswar on Monday, the Governor stated, “It is essential to sensitise students about these pressing concerns. We must ensure that our young minds develop not only as achievers but also as compassionate individuals committed to creating a better world.”

He encouraged students to aspire for greatness, saying, “Dream big, work hard, stay grounded, and never stop striving for excellence.”

Reflecting on the significance of the event, Dr. Kambhampati noted, “This is a day of celebration and pride—for the students who have excelled, the parents who have supported them, and the school that continues to shape the future leaders of our nation.”

He congratulated the prize winners for their achievements in academics, sports, co-curricular activities, and discipline, calling their awards milestones on the path to even greater accomplishments.

The Governor commended Sainik Schools for their vision of preparing young minds for careers in the armed forces while instilling values like patriotism, discipline, integrity, and leadership. “This institution has upheld that vision with pride, producing distinguished officers, civil servants, and responsible citizens,” he remarked.

He also praised the faculty, staff, and parents for their dedication to student development and highlighted the enduring bond between the school and its alumni.

In today’s fast-changing world, the Governor stressed that schools must equip students not only with academic knowledge but also with moral clarity, physical fitness, and civic awareness.

He expressed confidence that, guided by the school’s motto—Seva, Kartavya, Gyan, Veerta—students would continue to make the nation proud.

The program also included addresses from the State Chief Election Commissioner of Odisha, Madhusudan Padhi, Major General Sudhakar Jee, VSM (Retd.), and Niranjan Khuntia. The vote of thanks was delivered by the Principal of the school, Colonel Balu Bharath.
