A shocking case of grave desecration has sparked panic and outrage in Narasinghguda village in Odisha’s Nabarangpur district, where miscreants allegedly severed and stole the head of a deceased woman 42 days after her burial.
The woman had passed away on September 26 following a battle with chickenpox, after which her family performed the final rites and buried her body according to local customs.
The disturbing incident came to light after locals noticed that the grave had been dug up and tampered with. Upon further inspection, the skull was found missing from the remains inside.
Fears of black magic and occult rituals quickly spread across the area after a dead chicken and ritual paraphernalia were discovered near the desecrated grave site. Villagers suspect that practitioners of sorcery dug up the grave under the cover of darkness to carry out esoteric practices.
Local police were alerted to the scene and have initiated an investigation into the matter to identify the perpetrators and restore calm to the village.
