Bhanjpur police intercepted a car near Laxmiposi in Mayurbhanj district following a high-speed chase, seizing 1.5 quintals of contraband ganja alongside lakhs of rupees in cash.
Acting on a tip-off regarding illegal drug transportation, police officers pursued the suspect vehicle as it attempted to evade capture. The chase culminated near Laxmiposi, where law enforcement officers successfully cornered the car and confiscated the substantial stash of marijuana.
Three individuals travelling in the vehicle have been detained by Bhanjpur Police for interrogation. Officials confirmed that one of the suspects hails from neighbouring West Bengal, pointing to a potential inter-state drug trafficking connection.
Further investigation is underway to trace the origin and destination of the contraband.
