Team India clinched the five-match T20I series 3-2 against New Zealand despite succumbing to a seven-wicket defeat in the final match at Seddon Park, Hamilton.
Batting first, India posted a competitive total of 191/8 in their allotted 20 overs, driven by blistering half-centuries from Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer. However, New Zealand pacer Adam Milne’s impressive four-wicket haul kept the visitors within striking distance in the closing overs.
In response, the Blackcaps staged a ruthless run-chase on a favourable Hamilton track. New Zealand’s top order attacked from the start, comfortably overhauling the 192-run target by reaching 195/3 in just 18 overs with two full overs to spare.
Despite the setback in the finale, India’s earlier victories in the series proved decisive, securing them a hard-fought 3-2 series triumph on foreign soil. The series offered both sides valuable insights and high-intensity match practice ahead of upcoming international commitments.
