Actor and producer Rana Daggubati made a surprise announcement at HorrorCon India 2026 in New Delhi during Halloween weekend, revealing his upcoming production venture titled Scary Picture.
The film, which marks the Hindi feature directorial debut of offbeat Telugu filmmaker Ravi Babu, will star actor-politician Kangana Ranaut in the lead role. Ranaut confirmed the project on Sunday, November 1, 2026, by sharing the launch footage on her social media platforms.
HorrorCon Announcement and Hindi Debut
Addressing the audience at HorrorCon India 2026, Rana Daggubati unveiled the title on stage and confirmed that the project is aimed primarily at Hindi cinema audiences:
”So, it’s a horror film. It’s by a director called Ravi Babu, who is a friend of mine. He’s made multiple horror films in Telugu. And this is his first Hindi feature. The title is announced here first. It went to no Hindi press; this is the first time we’re putting the intimation up.”
The project marks Ranaut’s return to the horror genre following her performance in the 2023 Tamil horror-comedy Chandramukhi 2 and her earlier 2009 Hindi horror feature Raaz: The Mystery Continues.
