Investigation into the Oct 18 shooting targeting actor Tiger Shroff has revealed that the assailants initially attempted to target actors Aamir Khan and Emraan Hashmi, according to the Mumbai Police Crime Branch.
Police officials stated that operatives linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang conducted a reconnaissance at Aamir Khan’s residence, unaware that the actor had relocated to South Mumbai.
Subsequently, the handlers instructed the team to recce Emraan Hashmi’s house, but the assailants failed to locate it despite local inquiries.
After these failed attempts, the gang turned their focus to Tiger Shroff. They tracked his routines through social media reels, discovering that he regularly visited the Pushpa Narsee ground in Juhu on Sundays to play football.
Meanwhile, a local court on Monday remanded four accused—Radha Verma (21), Babita Rao (21), Kunal Jaminsingh (21), and Sumit Saroliya (19)—to police custody until Oct 28. Arrested from Sonipat, Haryana, the quartet allegedly facilitated arms supply for the operation.
Investigators revealed Jaminsingh received a pistol from Bishnoi gang operative Anil Pandit, which was delivered to shooter Rehan Ansari in Dadar a day before the attack.
Shroff escaped unhurt during the shooting, though his driver and a blogger sustained bullet injuries. Eleven individuals have been arrested so far.
