Two truck drivers were burnt alive after their vehicles collided head-on and immediately caught fire on the Sundaragada Coal Corridor.
The fatal accident took place late last night near Amlabahal Chhak, sending shockwaves through the local community.
According to preliminary reports, the sheer impact of the high-speed collision triggered a massive blaze that instantly engulfed both heavy vehicles. Trapped inside their respective cabins by the mangled metal and the fierce heat, the drivers were unable to escape before the fire consumed the trucks.
Eyewitnesses and local motorists rushed to the scene, attempting a desperate rescue operation. However, the intensity and sheer speed of the flames made it impossible to approach the burning wreckage or pull the trapped men to safety.
Local police arrived at the accident site shortly after receiving distress calls, alongside firefighting units that managed to bring the blaze under control. Authorities have launched an extensive investigation to determine the exact cause of the collision, while efforts are currently underway to establish the identities of the deceased drivers.
This tragic incident has once again turned the spotlight onto safety concerns along the heavily trafficked industrial coal corridors of Odisha, leaving families mourning a devastating and sudden loss.
