Ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s high-profile visit to Odisha on Sunday, internationally acclaimed sand artist and Padma Shri awardee Sudarsan Pattnaik has unveiled a magnificent eight-foot sand sculpture at Puri Beach.
The striking artwork serves as a visual celebration of both Odisha’s rich cultural heritage and India’s rapid digital transformation, specifically marking the inauguration of the Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) state-of-the-art Data Centre and Cybersecurity Training Institute in Bhubaneswar.

Capturing the essence of the momentous occasion, the sculpture intricately features the iconic Konark Wheel—a universal symbol of heritage and time—alongside a detailed recreation of the newly established RBI Data Centre. This artistic juxtaposition brilliantly symbolises the harmonious fusion of ancient tradition and cutting-edge financial technology.
Speaking about his latest creation, Pattnaik shared that setting up a landmark institution like the RBI Data Centre in Odisha is a matter of immense pride for the state. He noted that the sand art was crafted as a heartfelt welcome to the Prime Minister while simultaneously showcasing the region’s evolving identity as a hub for both cultural preservation and digital advancement.
Prime Minister Modi’s visit is expected to give a significant boost to regional development, with the new cybersecurity and data hub positioning Odisha prominently on India’s modern technological map.
