India’s women’s cricket team has made a late change to its ODI squad ahead of the Muthoot FinCorp three-match series against Zimbabwe, with Jintimani Kalita replacing Renuka Singh Thakur.
The fast bowler has been ruled out as she continues to build the required bowling volume for the 50-over format at the BCCI Centre of Excellence.
Kalita, who featured in the recently concluded T20I series in Raipur, has already joined the squad in Baroda (Vadodara), where the ODIs will be played. The series begins on Friday, 23 October 2026, with all three matches scheduled at 2:00 PM IST at the same venue.
The updated ODI squad is: Smriti Mandhana (C), Shafali Verma, Pratika Rawal, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, Tejal Hasabnis, Deepti Sharma (VC), Richa Ghosh (WK), Yastika Bhatia (WK), Vaishnavi Sharma, Nandni Sharma, Sree Charani, Kranti Gaud, Sayali Satghare, and Jintimani Kalita.
The change gives Kalita an opportunity to step into the longer format at the international level while India manages Renuka’s workload carefully after recent commitments. The team will look to carry forward its strong recent form against Zimbabwe in what is expected to be a one-sided contest on paper, though the focus remains on giving emerging players meaningful game time.
