A devastating road accident took place near Kaleiposh Kata under the Lahunipada police station limits in Sundaragada district, resulting in the deaths of a woman and a young child, while six others sustained severe injuries.
According to reports, the incident occurred when a high-speed Hyva truck collided head-on with a passenger car. The impact of the crash was so severe that the woman and the child died on the spot before medical assistance could reach them.
Six other occupants traveling in the car received serious injuries. Local residents rushed to the scene immediately after the collision to assist in rescuing the trapped passengers from the wrecked vehicle. Emergency services were alerted, and the critically injured victims were transferred to a nearby medical facility for urgent treatment.
