India Women produced a clinical all-round performance to thrash Zimbabwe Women by 92 runs in the third and final T20I in Raipur on Tuesday, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 series whitewash.
The margin marks India’s biggest win by runs at home in women’s T20 internationals.
Batting first, India posted a commanding 216 for 7 in 20 overs. Shafali Verma set the tone with an explosive 69 off just 37 balls, striking six fours and five sixes at a strike rate of 186. Harmanpreet Kaur then took centre stage, blasting an unbeaten 91 off 41 deliveries — laced with 10 fours and five sixes at a blistering strike rate of nearly 222 — to power the total past 200. The former captain’s return to destructive form provided the defining flourish of the innings.
Zimbabwe’s chase never gathered momentum. They were restricted to 124 for 7 in their full 20 overs. Sharne Mayers offered some resistance with 60 off 49 balls, but Nandani Sharma proved the standout with the ball, returning figures of 3 for 18 in four overs. India’s disciplined bowling attack ensured the visitors never threatened the target of 217.
The victory capped a dominant series for the hosts. Having already won the first two matches, India completed the clean sweep in emphatic fashion at the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh International Stadium. Harmanpreet Kaur was named Player of the Match for her match-winning knock, while the series result underlined India’s control across all departments.
