The Department of Chemicals and Petrochemicals under the Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India, in joint partnership with the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), is set to launch the 14th edition of India Chem 2026.
The flagship biennial event runs from October 22 to 24, 2026, at the Bombay Exhibition Centre (NESCO), Goregaon, Mumbai.
Centering around the theme “Advantage Bharat: An Emerging Global Chemicals Hub,” the three-day international exhibition and conference positions India as a premier hub for investment, technological innovation, and global supply-chain integration.
Union Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers & Health and Family Welfare, JP Nadda, will officially inaugurate the landmark conference. He will be joined by Union Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers & Health and Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, alongside the Chief Ministers of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, and Odisha, together with key central and state leaders.
Accelerating Toward a $1 Trillion Economy
Holding the position of the sixth-largest chemical producer globally and the fourth-largest in Asia, India’s chemical sector stands at a pivotal growth inflection point. The industry is projected to expand from its current scale to $300 billion by 2030, reaching $1 trillion by 2040.
Growth drivers fueling this trajectory include:
- Strong Domestic & Export Demand: Expanding manufacturing needs paired with low per capita consumption rates.
- Competitive Capabilities: Skilled workforce, low-cost operations, and robust regulatory frameworks.
- Favorable Policy Push: Enabling government interventions, world-class logistics infrastructure, and proactive FDI policies.
Global Alliances: Japan Steps Up as Partner Country
The 2026 edition reflects significant international momentum, drawing representation from over 100 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, European Union states, Vietnam, South Korea, and ASEAN members.
Demonstrating deepening economic and technological ties with India, Japan is participating as the official Partner Country for India Chem 2026.
Leading industrial hubs, including states with Petroleum, Chemicals and Petrochemicals Investment Regions (PCPIRs)—such as Gujarat, Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Maharashtra—will present key project opportunities to prospective investors.
