Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Deputy Prime Minister LK Advani was admitted to Apollo Hospital in New Delhi on Friday after developing a chest infection.
Hospital sources said the veteran leader’s condition remains stable and he is under medical supervision.
The 98-year-old BJP patriarch was reportedly taken to the hospital on Friday evening and is receiving treatment in the pulmonary department. Doctors are closely monitoring his health and have assured that his condition is stable.
This is not the first time Advani has been hospitalised this year. He was earlier admitted to the same hospital for age-related health issues and was discharged after receiving treatment.
One of the founding figures of the BJP, Advani has played a pivotal role in shaping India’s political landscape over several decades. Though he has remained away from active politics in recent years, he continues to command immense respect across party lines.
Earlier this month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Advani at his residence in New Delhi and sought his blessings following a significant milestone in his public life.
Party workers and well-wishers across the country have expressed concern and prayed for his speedy recovery.
