In a determined push to make Odisha’s electoral rolls cleaner, more accurate, and fully inclusive, the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter lists has completed its fourth day with impressive progress.
Over 41.60 lakh voters across the state have already received their pre-printed enumeration forms through a massive door-to-door campaign.
According to the Chief Electoral Officer’s office, by 7 PM on Tuesday, as many as 41,60,000 voters were handed the Annexure-III forms by Booth Level Officers (BLOs). The drive, which began a few days ago, has seen widespread enthusiasm among citizens, with people actively participating in efforts to remove duplicate, shifted, and deceased entries while ensuring no eligible voter is left out.
In a first-of-its-kind intensive exercise, 45,255 Booth Level Officers are fanning out across every village, urban ward, and especially remote tribal-dominated areas. These officers are visiting homes personally to distribute two copies of the pre-printed voter enumeration form to each eligible person. One copy is collected back after filling, while the second signed copy is handed over as an official receipt for the voter to keep.
Importantly, voters are not required to submit any additional documents during this door-to-door enumeration. The process is designed to be simple, transparent, and citizen-friendly.
For those who prefer digital options, the Election Commission has made forms available for download on the official portal voters.eci.gov.in. Completed forms can also be uploaded online, giving voters complete flexibility.
To ensure complete coordination and transparency, 33,226 Booth Level Agents (BLAs) nominated by various political parties are actively assisting the BLOs on the ground.
The administration has stressed that every possible step is being taken so that no genuine voter misses out on this opportunity.
