The Excise Department conducted a raid in Kantabanji, seizing over 4 quintals of Mahua flowers being transported illegally.
The raid took place in Goindimal village under Mahulpati Panchayat, following intelligence about contraband transport to Lathore.
The department’s team apprehended Chintamani Bag, 36, and confiscated a Tata Ace vehicle loaded with Mahua flowers. The operation was led by Excise Officer Prabin Kumar Sahu, supported by Ishwar Chandra Bhoi, Ranjan Mishra, and Ashish Patel. The accused was produced in the Kantabanji Court for legal proceedings.
Excise Officer Sahu commended the coordinated effort by the team to curtail illegal activities in the region. He stated that further investigations are underway.
