Seoul: In a devastating incident, a Jeju Air plane carrying 181 people crashed at Muan International Airport, resulting in a tragic loss of life. The crash, which occurred during landing, has left at least 179 people presumed dead, with only two survivors rescued so far.
The aircraft, returning from Bangkok, Thailand, veered off the runway and collided with a fence, bursting into flames upon impact. Firefighters and emergency services rushed to the scene, working tirelessly to extinguish the blaze and rescue any remaining survivors. The two survivors, a flight attendant and a passenger, were found in the tail section of the aircraft and have been transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have confirmed that the plane experienced a landing gear malfunction, which likely contributed to the crash. The National Fire Agency reported that 62 bodies have been recovered so far, with rescue operations ongoing to locate the remaining victims.
