Bhubaneswar: As many as 17 places in Odisha recorded maximum day temperature 40 degrees Celsius and above with Boudh becoming the hottest place in the state with 43 °C.
According evening weather bulletin by Bhubaneswar Meteorological Center, other places that recorded 40 °C and above are Bhubaneswar 42.5 °C, Bolangir 42.2 °C, Angul 42.1 °C, Nayagarh and Titilagarh 42 °C each. Besides, Talcher recorded 41.6 °C, Sundergarh 41.5 °C, Jharsuguda 41.4 °C, Baripada & Sambalpur 41.2 °C each, and Sonepur & Bhawanipatna recorded 41 °C each.
Similarly, Hirakud recorded maximum day temperature of 40.9 °C, Cuttack 40.2 °C, Balasore 40.1 °C, and Phulbani 40 °C.
Other places in Odisha that witnessed temperature below 40 °C are Chandbali 39.8 °C, Paradip 32.2 °C, Gopalpur 32.1 °C, Puri 33.4 °C, Kendujhar 38.2 °C, Koraput 35.2 °C, Malkangiri 37.5 °C, Daringbadi 35.5 °C, Chhatrapur 34 °C, Paralakhemundi 38 °C and Rayagada recorded 35 °C.
