New Delhi: As many as 11 persons were charred to death while four others including a police constable sustained injuries in the fire mishap that broke out at a paint factory at Dayalpur Market in North Delhi’s Alipur area at around 5.30 pm on Thursday.
Shortly after the fire erupted, the spot was reached by fire tenders to douse the flames. 22 fire tenders reached the spot, and the fire was extinguished. A search operation is underway after a fire broke out at a Paint factory in Alipur yesterday, killing 11 people. As per the Director of Delhi Fire Services, Atul Garg, two more persons are likely trapped.
The identities of the deceased persons are yet to be ascertained. The four injured have been identified as Jyoti (42), Divya (20), Mohit Solanki (34) and Karambir, a Delhi police constable.
The deceased persons have been transferred to Babu Jagjeevan Ram Hospital, while the injured have been taken to Raja Harish Chandra Hospital in Delhi.
The blaze was so strong that the walls of houses adjacent to the factory were impacted. Police have registered a case and the cause behind the blaze is being investigated.
