Bhawanipatna: A fire broke out on the fourth floor of the Shaheed Rendo Majhi Medical College in Kalahandi district late on Monday night.
The fire mishap took place at around midnight in the Obstetrics and gynaecology department. The patients on the floor were immediately shifted, for which a major accident was averted.
On receiving information, the fire service personnel reached the spot and doused the flames. The exact reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained. However, it is suspected that an electrical short circuit might have caused the fire.
