Railway Police at Titilagarh Station seized ₹90 lakh in cash during two separate operations, detaining three individuals for questioning.

In the first case, a joint team from RPF and Railway Police intercepted two men aboard Train No. 22838 Dharti Aaba Express around 6 AM. Upon inspecting a blue bag in their possession, officers discovered ₹70 lakh in cash. The suspects, Umesh Prasad (56) from Bajda village in Bihar and Prabhat Kumar Sahu (29) from Purnanagar in Jharkhand, failed to produce valid documentation for the money. Authorities detained both and informed the Income Tax Department for further investigation.

In a similar incident, police seized ₹20 lakh from a passenger on Train No. 18753 Bhagat Ki Kothi Express. The man, Naresh Kumar Agrawal (56) from Mahavir Pada in Bhawanipatna, Kalahandi, was carrying the cash in a bag. He claimed the money was meant for purchasing wedding attire and jewelry for his nephew in Raipur. After notifying the Income Tax Department and verifying his explanation, police released him and returned the seized amount.

Both cases highlight the vigilance of Railway Police in monitoring suspicious activities during routine inspections. Officials confirmed that further action will depend on the outcome of the Income Tax probe.
