A decomposed body of an unidentified young man was recovered from a playground near the Mancheswar Railway Coach Repair Workshop in Bhubaneswar on Sunday afternoon.
The discovery has prompted an immediate investigation by the Mancheswar police, with Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jagmohan Meena leading the probe alongside a scientific team.
According to sources, local residents spotted the body in the playground and informed the playground supervisor. The supervisor promptly alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) stationed at the nearby workshop. RPF officials inspected the site and subsequently notified the Mancheswar police. Upon arrival, the police seized the body and sent it to Capital Hospital for a post-mortem examination.
DCP Meena, accompanied by a scientific team, visited the site to gather evidence and initiate a thorough investigation. Preliminary findings suggest the body had been lying in the playground for a few days, complicating identification efforts due to its decomposed state. The police are now canvassing the local area to gather information and are checking missing persons reports to establish the identity of the deceased.
Authorities have urged anyone with information about a missing individual to come forward as they work to uncover the circumstances surrounding this mysterious death. The investigation is ongoing, with the police exploring all possible leads to determine whether foul play was involved.
