Berhampur: Police have recovered the blood-stained body of a young man from the roadside at Podamari under Patpur PS limits in Ganjam district on Sunday.
The deceased is identified as Ranjit Kumar Gouda (22) of Patiguda village of Sanakhemundi block of the district. However, family members have alleged that Ranjit has been murdered.
According to family sources said Ranjit had gone out of home last night on his bike and did not return till late in the evening. The family members said they got the information at 2 am that Ranjit had met with an accident and lying dead on the roadside. They rushed to the site immediately and informed Patpur police on the incident.
Police seized the body and sent it to Digapahandi CHC where the doctors declared him brought dead.
Police sources said a case has been registered and the body sent to Berhampur hospital for post-mortem. After obtaining the report, it could be ascertained if Ranjit was murdered or it was an accident.
