Police have arrested Umesh Nag, a youth from Chhattisgarh, for the murder of his pregnant girlfriend after she refused to abort their child.
The victim’s body was discovered deep within the Rengabandh forest, leading authorities to launch a thorough investigation.
According to reports, the woman, hailing from Martunda village, had been in a relationship with Nag for a year. Upon learning of her pregnancy, Nag insisted on an abortion, which she refused, expressing her desire to marry instead. This allegedly enraged Nag, prompting him to lure her to a remote area near Chalanguda village under the pretext of resolving their issues.
However, instead of reconciliation, Nag reportedly attacked her with a stone, fatally striking her before dumping her body in the dense forest. When she was reported missing, police initiated a search and discovered her remains, swiftly identifying Nag as the prime suspect.
Public outrage has erupted over the gruesome crime, with locals demanding harsh punishment for Nag. Authorities have assured a transparent and swift investigation to ensure justice is served.
