A youth got electrocuted to death atop a goods train wagon at the Gurudijhatia Railway Station in the Athagarh area in Cuttack on Friday morning.
The identity of the deceased youth is yet to be ascertained. He is suspected to be from the Chha village.
As per reports, a goods train had been stationed at the Gurudiajhatia Railway Station yard. The youth had secretly climbed atop one of the wagons of the coal-laden goods train allegedly to steal the tarpaulin-covered on the coal. However, the exact reason is unclear.
At this time the youth somehow came in contact with the live high-voltage electric fittings and resultantly electrocuted. Once electrocuted he was charred atop the wagon only.
The charred body of the youth was lying at the spot for a long time till the Railway Police sent it for post-mortem. The RPF and Railways have launched an investigation into the incident.
