A young man from Rajasthan suffered serious burns while attempting to take a selfie on top of a train at Mancheswar Railway Station in Bhubaneswar.
The incident occurred when he climbed onto a train bogie to capture a photo and came into contact with a high-voltage wire.
Eyewitnesses said the youth was in Odisha for training in Cuttack. He climbed the stationary train to record a video and take selfies for social media reels. The stunt turned tragic as he was electrocuted instantly, causing severe injuries.
Railway officials and bystanders rushed to his aid and moved him to the Railway Medical facility for immediate treatment. Later, doctors shifted him to Cuttack for advanced care due to the extent of his burns.
Authorities have urged young people to avoid dangerous stunts near railway tracks and trains. They emphasised that such acts not only risk lives but also disrupt railway operations.
