A horrifying incident unfolded today in Lingapada village, located in the Soro Municipality area of Balasore district, where a youth allegedly killed a young woman by slitting her throat.
The deceased, identified as Jyotirmayee Rana (25), was alone at home at the time of the incident.
Family members discovered Jyotirmayee’s lifeless body upon returning home and immediately rushed her to Soro Hospital, where doctors declared her dead. While the motive behind the killing is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that the youth may have committed the act due to a one-sided love affair with the victim.
Reports indicate that the accused had been harassing Jyotirmayee, and a complaint was lodged at the Soro police station just two days ago. The police have since launched an investigation to trace and apprehend the suspect.
Authorities are urging the public to remain calm while they conduct a thorough investigation into this tragic incident.
