Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police has arrested a woman for allegedly blackmailing and extorting money from high-profile people like politicians and film producers.
The accused has been identified as Archana Nayak.
According to reports, the accused used to target high-profile people like politicians, ministers and film producers and extort money from them by levelling allegations against them.
Recently, she had brought allegations against a film producer and lodged a complaint at Laxmisagar police station. She alleged that the producer blackmailed her with obscene photographs.
The film producer had lodged a counter-complaint at Nayapalli police station alleging that the woman had been blackmailing him by making his photographs viral. He alleged that the woman had demanded Rs 3 crore from him.
Further investigation is underway in this regard.
