Jajpur: A police officer landed in a soup after a woman levelled “misbehaviour” allegations against him. The incident has been reported from Jajpur district.
The accused has been identified as Bijay Kumar Swain, Jajpur SI.
As per reports, the incident took place while the woman went to Jhumpuri Beat House under Mangalapur police station on March 16 in order to seek help regarding a land dispute. Following this, she met the In-charge and shared grievances.
However, instead of taking action regarding the case, the accused cop allegedly engaged in silly conversation with her. He also drove her family members away from his chamber before misbehaving with her, the complainant said.
The matter came to fore after the victim filed a complaint against the accused with the Superintendent of Police, Jajpur P R Rahul. Following this, a probe into the matter has been initiated, sources said.
