Odisha Vigilance unearthed significant assets during searches on properties linked to Satyanarayan Sethy, Assistant Executive Engineer of Kotpad Block in Koraput district.
Officials confirmed the recovery of a flat, farmhouses, plots, cash and gold.
Investigators found a 2-BHK flat measuring about 1000 square feet at Hi-tech Plaza in Jatani, Khordha. They also seized two farmhouses in Taragaon, Boriguma Tahasil — one spanning 10.03 acres with mango and eucalyptus plantations, and another covering 4.35 acres with Nilgiri plantations.
The Vigilance team identified 32 valuable plots across Jeypore, Koraput, Boriguma, Kotpad and Patangi Tahasils. Technical Wing officers are currently measuring and assessing the valuation of these properties.
Searches further revealed cash amounting to Rs 5.48 lakh and gold jewellery weighing 300 grams. Officials said bank deposits, postal savings and other financial investments are being verified.
Authorities continue to examine documents and financial records to establish the scale of wealth amassed by Sethy and his family members. Searches remain underway, with further reports expected once valuation and verification are complete.
Service Career of Satyanarayan Sethy
Sri Satyanarayan Sethy (DOB: 05.06.1975) entered government service on 22 January 1998 as a Junior Engineer at the Office of the Chief Engineer, Upper Kolab Division, Ambaguda, Koraput, with an initial salary of Rs 7,100.
Later that year, on 21 October 1998, he was transferred to Jharigaon Block, Nabarangpur, as a Junior Engineer. On 3 October 2001, he moved to Chandahandi Block, Nabarangpur, where he continued until 25 April 2002, when he was posted to ITDA, Jeypore, Koraput, in the same capacity.
After years of service, he earned promotion on 29 July 2015 to Assistant Engineer and was posted at Kotpad Block, Koraput. On 13 June 2020, he was transferred to Boriguma Block, Koraput, as an Assistant Engineer.
His career advanced further on 3 September 2025 when he was promoted to Assistant Executive Engineer and posted at Kotpad Block, Koraput, where he continues to serve.
