Bollywood actor Vidya Balan has issued a stern warning to her fans regarding the circulation of AI-generated deepfake videos falsely attributing statements to her.
These deceptive videos have been circulating on social media platforms and WhatsApp, confusing her followers. Vidya clarified that the videos were entirely fake and did not reflect her views or work.
In an Instagram post, Vidya shared a clip from one of these fabricated videos, which featured her falsely endorsing certain statements. To emphasize the inauthenticity, she prominently marked the video with a large ‘Scam Alert’ stamp. She urged her fans to verify information before sharing it and to be wary of misleading AI-generated content.
This incident is not isolated to Vidya Balan. Other Indian actors, including Rashmika Mandanna, Deepika Padukone, Alia Bhatt, Katrina Kaif, Ranveer Singh, and Aamir Khan, have also fallen victim to similar deepfake scams.
Vidya Balan’s recent work includes her role in the horror-comedy film Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which was a box office hit. As she continues to entertain her fans with her performances, she also remains vigilant in protecting her reputation against such malicious digital threats.
