Vedanta Aluminium, India’s largest aluminium producer, participated in the celebrations of Parab 2025, the 28th edition of Koraput’s iconic cultural festival.
This festival honours the region’s vibrant traditions, indigenous art forms, and rich heritage. The five-day tribal event brings together communities, artists, and industries to celebrate the timeless cultural legacy of southern Odisha.
On the inaugural day, Vedanta Aluminium showcased its dedicated stall, emphasising the company’s commitment to community development and cultural preservation. The stall was inaugurated by Dr. Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, the Hon’ble Minister for Housing & Urban Development, Government of Odisha, in the esteemed presence of several dignitaries, including Shri Ramachandra Kadam, MLA of Pottangi; Shri Raghuram Machha, MLA of Koraput; Shri Pabitra Saunta, MLA of Laxmipur; Shri Rupu Bhatra, MLA of Kotpad; Smt. Sasmita Meleka, Jilla Parishad Member from Koraput; and Shri Manoj Satyawan Mahajan, Collector & District Magistrate of Koraput. The dignitaries praised the festival for highlighting tribal culture while reflecting the region’s journey toward inclusive and sustainable development.
Vedanta Aluminium’s booth provided visitors with valuable insights into its community development and cultural preservation initiatives. A significant highlight was Project Adikala, a program at the company’s Lanjigarh unit dedicated to reviving ancient indigenous art forms, such as Saura painting and Dhokra metal craft. Through Project Adikala, the company has helped over 200 rural families secure sustainable livelihoods while preserving centuries-old artistic traditions.
Speaking at the event, Pranab Kumar Bhattacharyya, CEO of Vedanta Alumina Business, stated, “Parab is a celebration of living traditions and community pride. At Vedanta Aluminium, we believe that development must go hand in hand with the preservation of cultural heritage. Through initiatives like Project Adikala, we are not only reviving India’s ancient art forms but also creating sustainable livelihood opportunities for rural communities. Our participation in Parab 2025 reflects our ongoing commitment to inclusive growth rooted in local culture.”
Vedanta Aluminium’s association with Parab highlights its long-standing partnership with Odisha’s communities, where cultural preservation, livelihood creation, education, sports, and women’s empowerment are central to its social impact efforts.
