Deputy Chief Minister and Women & Child Development Minister Pravati Parida urged all MLAs across Odisha to actively support the construction and improvement of Anganwadi Centres in their constituencies.
She emphasised that public representatives must ensure timely completion and maintain quality standards in every project.
In her letter to legislators, Parida highlighted the importance of strengthening women and child welfare initiatives through collective participation. She called for greater involvement of women in ongoing development works at the constituency level.
Parida said Anganwadi infrastructure plays a vital role in delivering grassroots services related to child care, nutrition, and women’s empowerment. She noted that improved facilities directly enhance the effectiveness of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) scheme.
During the financial years 2024–25 and 2025–26, the state inaugurated and handed over 3,293 new Anganwadi Centre buildings under the infrastructure strengthening initiative. Additionally, 12,140 Anganwadi Centres have been transformed into Saksham Anganwadis under the ICDS scheme, reflecting Odisha’s commitment to inclusive development.
The Deputy Chief Minister reaffirmed that coordinated efforts between government departments and elected representatives will accelerate progress and ensure better outcomes for women and children across the state.
