The investigation into the Raurkela Circuit House gun and ammunition seizure case has widened, with police arresting two more suspects, taking the total number of arrests to 12.
The case, which began with the recovery of firearms and bullets from the Circuit House premises, has revealed several new links. Following the arrest of suspended BJP youth leader Prakash Paswan from Bihar, police produced him in court on Thursday night. He was denied bail and sent to jail.
Sources said the Raurkela police have sought Paswan’s remand for further interrogation to uncover his alleged connections with professional criminals.
Meanwhile, two additional arrests were made on Friday, and officials indicated that more detentions are likely as the probe deepens. Reports suggest that some government employees have also come under the scanner, and legal action may soon be initiated against them.
Authorities are also examining the role of staff members responsible for Circuit House operations, with disciplinary proceedings expected.
