Ten days after 33‑year‑old Twisha Sharma was found dead at her matrimonial home in Bhopal’s Katara Hills, her husband Samarth Singh surrendered before a Jabalpur court.

Police had earlier announced a reward of Rs 30,000 for information leading to his arrest, raising it from Rs 10,000 under mounting pressure. Authorities also sought revocation of his passport.

Twisha’s body, preserved at AIIMS Bhopal mortuary since May 13, remains stored at ‑4°C. Dr Ketan Mehra confirmed the facility has adequate preservation systems, stating the body can be safely maintained for extended periods. Former Gandhi Medical College medicolegal head Dr D.K. Satpathi echoed that a body stored at ‑4°C does not decompose and can remain preserved for up to six months.

Twisha’s family described her death as suspicious and appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for intervention. In their appeal, they demanded three measures: transfer of the case to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), permission for a second post‑mortem, and direct oversight by the Supreme Court.

The family alleged that influential individuals were attempting to manipulate the investigation. They emphasised their commitment to justice, noting that some of Twisha’s siblings serve in the Indian Army.

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding Twisha’s death, while her family insists on a transparent probe to uncover the truth.
