Trump Issues 48-Hour Ultimatum to Iran: “All Hell Will Reign Down” Over Strait of Hormuz Blockade

Trump Iran Hormuz ultimatum

US President Donald J. Trump has issued a fiery reminder to Iran that time is nearly up on his ultimatum to either negotiate a deal or fully reopen the strategically vital Strait of Hormuz, warning that failure to comply will bring “all Hell” upon the Islamic Republic.

In a statement shared by the White House on Saturday, April 4, 2026, Trump referenced his earlier 10-day deadline, stating: “Remember when I gave Iran ten days to MAKE A DEAL or OPEN UP THE HORMUZ STRAIT. Time is running out – 48 hours before all Hell will reign down on them. Glory be to GOD!”

The post comes amid the ongoing US-Israel military campaign against Iran, which erupted in late February 2026. Iran responded to initial strikes by imposing a de facto blockade on the Strait of Hormuz — the narrow chokepoint through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil supply normally flows. Shipping traffic has plummeted by over 90% in recent weeks, triggering sharp spikes in global oil prices and energy market volatility.

The White House’s message underscores the Trump administration’s hardline stance: Iran must cease threats to international navigation and restore unrestricted access to the waterway, or face severe military consequences. Earlier in the conflict, Trump had threatened to target Iranian power plants and energy infrastructure if the strait was not opened, though deadlines were extended multiple times amid reported diplomatic overtures.

As the 48-hour window ticks down, markets are bracing for potential further disruption. Trump has previously vowed to act “extremely hard” against Iran in the coming weeks if no resolution is reached, emphasising America’s commitment to freedom of navigation and energy security.

This latest warning highlights the high-stakes diplomatic and military chess game playing out in the Middle East, with the world’s energy arteries hanging in the balance.
