Agartala witnessed a shocking development on Monday, July 20, as Tripura Director General of Police (DGP) Anurag Dhankar was found dead inside his office chamber at the Police Headquarters (PHQ).
Preliminary reports suggest it is a suspected case of suicide.
Dhankar, a senior IPS officer, was discovered hanging in his office. He was rushed to Govind Ballabh Pant (GBP) Hospital in Agartala, where further procedures are underway. Senior police officials immediately reached the PHQ, secured the area, and initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
