Odisha Transport Department Principal Secretary Usha Padhee arrived in Rourkela on Saturday along with a team of specialist doctors to assess the medical condition of passengers injured during the forced landing of the ‘India One’ aircraft.
Addressing the media, Padhee said Chief Minister Mohan Majhi had immediately directed all concerned authorities to extend maximum support and assistance after receiving information about the incident.
She informed that a state-level medical team has been formed to closely monitor the health of the injured passengers and pilots who are currently undergoing treatment at JP Hospital, Rourkela. Two specialist doctors were also flown to the city in a special helicopter to support local medical teams.
Padhee said the Odisha government is fully cooperating with the Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB), which has arrived in Rourkela to investigate the incident. All procedures are being carried out in accordance with guidelines issued by the Ministry of Civil Aviation, she added.
“We are extending full support to the AAIB team conducting the investigation. The state government has complied with all prescribed protocols. The investigation team has also carried out an aerial survey of the crash site,” Padhee said.
She further informed that the Aviation Director is currently stationed in Rourkela, while a team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has visited the accident site to assess the situation.
Padhee also expressed gratitude to the district administration, police, emergency responders, and local residents for their prompt assistance and cooperation following the incident. She said she would visit JP Hospital to review the situation firsthand and determine if any additional support is required.
