In a dramatic late‑night development, Arun Biswal, Additional Secretary of the Transport Department, was detained at Kharavel Nagar police station following allegations of misconduct and assault.
According to police sources, Biswal allegedly entered a woman’s residence at midnight and created a disturbance. The complainant, identified as an office steno, accused him of rape and misbehaviour, prompting immediate police action.
Inspector‑in‑Charge Debendra Biswal confirmed that the accused has been kept in custody for interrogation and will be forwarded to court after preliminary investigation.
