With President Droupadi Murmu scheduled to visit Odisha from August 3 to 5, 2026, the Bhubaneswar‑Kataka Police Commissionerate has announced extensive security and traffic arrangements across the twin cities.
Nearly 40 police platoons and 150 officers have been deployed under the supervision of DGP Y.B. Khurania to ensure the President’s safety. Special Tactical Units (STU), Special Technical Groups (STG), and plain‑clothes personnel will be on duty, following Blue Book guidelines for presidential security.
Commissioner Dr Suresh Dev Datta Singh confirmed that the President will attend multiple programmes in Bhubaneswar, Kataka, and Ganjam, including the inauguration of Jagadguru Kripalu Maharaj University at Dampada (Kataka) on August 3.

- 3:50 PM – 4:50 PM: Lok Bhavan Sq → Power House Sq → 120 Bn Sq → Jaydev Vihar Sq → XIMB Sq → NALCO Sq → Patia Sq → KIIT Sq → Nandankanan Sq → Banara Chhak.
- 5:50 PM – 6:50 PM: Banara Chhak → Nandankanan Sq → KIIT Sq → Patia Sq → NALCO Sq → Jaydev Vihar Sq → Lok Bhavan Sq.
- Aug 4 (Tuesday)
- 8:30 AM – 8:50 AM: Lok Bhavan Sq → AG Sq → Raj Mahal Sq → Master Canteen Golei → UCO Bank Lane → Venue.
- Aug 5 (Wednesday)
- 12:30 PM – 12:50 PM: Bhubaneswar Railway Station → UCO Bank Lane → Raj Mahal Sq → AG Sq → Hospital Sq → Airport Sq.
Goods carriers (six‑wheelers and above) coming from Bhubaneswar/Khurda towards Kataka and vice versa will also be restricted on August 3.
Emergency vehicles — fire tenders, ambulances, and police — are exempt from these restrictions.
Commuters are advised to plan routes in advance and use alternate roads to avoid inconvenience. The Commissionerate has sought public cooperation for smooth traffic management during the high‑profile visit.
