Trade Union workers in Bhubaneswar locked the master canteen at the ‘Ama Bus’ depot on Thursday morning, disrupting services and sparking concerns for daily commuters.

Trade Union workers staged demonstrations at the depot gates. They demanded the withdrawal of the new labour codes and raised issues linked to workers’ rights. Union leaders insisted that the government address their demands without delay.

The strike aligned with a nationwide bandh and labour unrest. Trade unions across India joined the protest, amplifying the scale of disruption. In Bhubaneswar, the blockade created immediate challenges for passengers who rely on ‘Ama Bus’ services.

Commuters struggled to find alternatives as employees refused cooperation. The depot remained locked, and bus operations slowed. The protest highlighted growing dissatisfaction among workers over policy changes.

Police and administration monitored the situation closely. Officials attempted to maintain order and prevent escalation. Labour leaders continued to press for negotiations, emphasising that the strike would persist until authorities responded.
