The initiative involves dispatching seven all-party delegations to key international partners, including UN Security Council members, following the Pahalgam terror attack and India’s retaliatory Operation Sindoor.
The delegations comprise 51 leaders from various political parties, supported by former diplomats.
While another TMC leader, Sudip Bandyopadhyay, had earlier declined participation due to health reasons, Yusuf Pathan has now officially withdrawn as well. The delegation aims to demonstrate India’s firm stance against terrorism.
A TMC representative emphasised the party’s unwavering commitment to national security, expressing gratitude to the armed forces. He reiterated that foreign policy decisions should remain exclusively within the Union government’s purview.
With Operation Sindoor drawing global attention, the delegation, led by leaders including Baijayant Panda, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sanjay Kumar Jha, Shrikant Shinde, Shashi Tharoor, Kanimozhi, and Supriya Sule, will engage with foreign governments to reinforce India’s diplomatic position.
