An Orange Alert has been announced for Balangir, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nayagarh, and Boudh districts, forecasting moderate thunderstorms with lightning, gusty winds reaching 40-60 kmph, and potential hailstorms.
The impact could lead to minor damage to unsecured structures, banana trees, and standing crops. Residents have been urged to monitor the weather and be prepared to move to safer locations if required.
Simultaneously, a Yellow Alert has been issued for districts like Angul, Gajapati, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Balasore, Bhadrak, and others, warning of light to moderate rainfall and winds reaching 30-40 kmph.
The Twin Cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack are among the areas likely to be affected. Residents have been advised to stay vigilant and take precautions against potential lightning strikes.
