Bargarh: Police have arrested three persons on charges of robbing a man of his mobile phone and motorcycle three days ago in Bargarh district.
The arrested persons were identified as Akshaya Mahananda (22), Gupe alias Purnachandra Sahu (22) and Biswanath Mahananda (19+).
As per police reports, one Jogeswar Patel of Guderpali village within Melchhamunda PS, was returning from Rampur on his motorycle at around 7 pm on 20th June.
In the meanwhile, the accused trio intercepted Patel at Bandhapali Bridge and snatched away his mobile phone by brandishing knives. They also took away the motorcycle before fleeing from the spot.
On the basis of a complaint, police initiated an investigation and zeroed in on two accused persons— Akshaya and Purnachandra— on Thursday and seized the stolen motorcycle. This morning, accused Biswanath was also apprehended.
Police said of the three arrested accused persons, Akshaya is a history-sheeter and is out on bail since 9th of May, 2022 from Sonepur Sub-Jail. As many as four criminal cases are registered against him at Bargarh’s Bijepur PS and Sonepur’s Rampur PS.
