Saayoni Ghosh has strongly rejected allegations linking her to a controversial property in Kolkata allegedly associated with Abhishek Banerjee.

The actor-turned-politician called the claims “fake news” and warned that strict legal action would be taken against those spreading misinformation online.

The controversy has intensified political tensions in West Bengal as the ruling All India Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party continue to clash over corruption allegations and political attacks.

‘My Assets Are Public’: Saayoni Ghosh Responds

In a strongly worded statement shared on social media platform X, Saayoni Ghosh denied reports claiming she jointly owns a property located at Seven Tanks Road in Kolkata.

She said all her financial details and declared assets are already available publicly through her election affidavit.

“People simply blessed me & I am grateful. I want my voters to know my assets have been declared on my election affidavit. Check the records,” Ghosh wrote.

The TMC MP also warned individuals attempting to defame her without proof.

“For those trying to defame me without any evidence — STOP NOW! Legal action will be taken for spreading fake news. This ‘Ghosh’ won’t be bullied,” she added.

Her statement quickly went viral, drawing reactions from political supporters and critics across social media.

Death Threat Row Adds Fuel To Political Controversy

The latest controversy comes just one day after Saayoni Ghosh alleged she had received an “open death threat” from a BJP leader in Uttar Pradesh.

According to videos circulating online, BJP leader Pradeep Dixit allegedly announced a reward of ₹1 crore for anyone who would “behead” the TMC MP.

The alleged remarks sparked widespread outrage and political reactions.

Saayoni Ghosh directly tagged Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla while demanding immediate action.

“I am shocked to see an open announcement offering money for my beheading,” she wrote.

The MP also questioned whether such statements reflected the BJP’s commitment to women’s safety and empowerment.

TMC Accuses BJP Of Smear Campaign

Meanwhile, the Trinamool Congress accused the BJP of running a targeted political smear campaign against senior party leaders.

The party claimed that notices issued by the Kolkata Municipal Corporation regarding alleged unauthorised construction were selectively leaked to media outlets to create controversy around Abhishek Banerjee and other TMC leaders.

Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari had earlier alleged that several properties were linked to leaders close to the ruling party.

According to civic officials, notices were issued under the KMC Act concerning properties allegedly associated with a company founded by Abhishek Banerjee.

Abhishek Banerjee Sends Strong Message

Responding to the growing controversy earlier, Abhishek Banerjee adopted a defiant stance.

“Let them do whatever they want. Send notices or demolish homes — I will not bow down,” he reportedly told party legislators.

His statement further intensified the political debate in West Bengal.

Social Media Reacts To Saayoni Ghosh’s Statement

Saayoni Ghosh’s sharp response and refusal to back down quickly became a major talking point online.

Many users praised her for standing firm against threats and allegations, while others continued debating the political implications of the controversy.

The TMC MP ended her message with a famous line from Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore:

“Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high.”
